You said yes. Again.

And it wasn't until later (maybe on the drive home, maybe lying awake at 2am) that you realised you didn't want to. That something in you had known. But you smiled anyway, agreed anyway, abandoned yourself anyway. Because it felt easier than the alternative.

Many of us don't catch it in the moment. We catch it afterwards. In the resentment. The exhaustion. The quiet fury we can't quite explain.

Because we were never taught to notice what a boundary feels like before we override it. Or to know what we genuinely want, rather than what we're willing to do. Or to ask for something directly, without apology or manipulation.

Most of us were taught to be agreeable. To be flexible. To keep the peace. To give and give until we've lost track of what we actually wanted in the first place.

This course is an invitation back.

What This Course Is About

Desire, Boundaries and the Body: Self-Study is a six-module journey into the somatic intelligence you were born with, the part of you that already knows what you want, what you're willing to do, and where your edges are. We work with the body, not just the mind, because that's where the real information lives.

The course is rooted in the Wheel of Consent, a framework developed by Dr Betty Martin, one of the most profound and practical maps of human interaction I have encountered. It goes far beyond yes and no. It illuminates the full landscape of giving, receiving, taking and allowing, and reveals the places where most of us quietly, invisibly lose ourselves.

Alongside that, we work with desire as a life force, not only sexual desire, but the deep appetite for a life that is genuinely yours. We practise asking. We practise negotiating. We practise the full-bodied no that doesn't need to explain itself, and the full-bodied yes that doesn't need permission.

This is not a course about techniques.
It's about coming home to yourself.

This is the self-study version of a course also offered live in a small women-only group. The content applies to every area of life: your relationships, your work, your time, your energy. The facilitator is a Certified Sexological Bodyworker and the material goes as deep as participants want to take it.

What You'll Carry Forward

The aim is that by the end of the course something has landed in your body, not only in your understanding.

01

Your body as compass

A clearer relationship with your own yes, no, and maybe, felt in the body before you override it.

02

Want-to vs willing-to

The ability to distinguish what you genuinely want from what you're simply willing to do, and understand the cost of confusing the two.

03

The Wheel of Consent

A working understanding of Betty Martin's framework: what it reveals about how you give, receive, take and allow in daily life.

04

The clean no

The experience of expressing a no that is complete without apology, over-explanation, or softening it into something else.

05

The direct ask

The practice of making a request clearly, without manipulation or apology, and receiving a response honestly.

06

Community

An ongoing group of women on the same path, not a cohort that ends, but a space you can stay in for as long as it serves you.

What You'll Explore

Six modules. A complete arc you move through at your own pace.

1
Coming Home to Your Body
Module 1 · Your body already knows
Before we can talk about consent, desire, or boundaries, we re-establish the most basic thing: your body as a source of information. Body scan practice. Noticing what yes, no, and maybe feel like in the body before you override them. Course agreements covered.
2
The Landscape of Desire
Module 2 · What do you actually want?
Desire as life force, not just sexuality. The crucial distinction between want-to and willing-to, and what it costs to live entirely on your willing-to list. Many women discover in this module that they've lost contact with genuine desire entirely. They know how to be agreeable. They don't always know how to want.
3
The Wheel of Consent
Module 3 · A new map
Betty Martin's Wheel of Consent in full, not just as a consent tool but as a complete map of human interaction. The four quadrants: Taking, Allowing, Serving, Accepting. Who is doing, and who is it for, and why those two things are not the same. Practical exercises including the foundational 'Waking Up the Hands' practice.
4
The Art of the No
Module 4 · Your no is not a problem to be solved
A clean, unhurried session on finding, feeling, and expressing a no that is complete without apology or over-explanation. The cost of the suppressed no. Many women arrive thinking they struggle to say no, and discover the real issue is that they've stopped being able to feel it.
5
The Art of Asking
Module 5 · Desire, requests and negotiation
Making requests without apology or manipulation. The difference between a request and a demand. How to hold a maybe without pressure. How to negotiate when two people want different things, not as compromise where both lose, but as genuine discovery of what's possible.
6
Living It
Module 6 · Consent as a way of being
Integration. How consent becomes not a technique but a way of moving through the world. Celebrating what has shifted. Closing ceremony. Signposting to further work for those who want to go deeper.

Is This Course Right for You?

This course is for you if…

You give a lot and aren't sure what you want in return. You say yes when you mean no and don't always catch it until later. You struggle to ask for things directly. You feel resentful, exhausted, or quietly disconnected from your own desire. You want to understand consent at a deeper level, not as a rule but as a living practice. You are ready to do real work, in your body, in a group of women doing the same.

This course may not be right for you if…

You are currently in acute mental health crisis or early trauma recovery. This work goes gently but it does go deep, and it works best when you have some stability to build from. If you're unsure, please reach out before enrolling. I'd rather we have an honest conversation than have you join at the wrong moment. One-to-one work may be a more appropriate container right now.

Nervousness isn't a sign you're not ready. It's often a sign you're at an edge of growth.

What Participants Say

"I instantly felt comfortable with Melanie to discuss personal experiences, fears and goals when it comes to conscious sexuality. From the first session we did exercises that helped me deeply understand my behaviour, consent and personal boundaries. I highly recommend Melanie for whoever wants to embark on this journey in a safe space."

Natalia

"The themes around consent really helped me to understand that I can change my mind and this freed me up from a past relationship. I managed to release the shame that I had stored around my 'flower'. The intimacy in my relationship with my partner has really developed to the point where he started to also get freed up from shame and we could have more fun. I can honestly say I can really now tell when I'm in my body and when I'm in my mind and that's really helpful!"

Vaishali

"Melanie is one of the safest and empowering people I know. She helped me to explore the deep and intimate subject of sensuality, while also teaching me how to value myself, create personal space, understand true consent, and set boundaries. She is a brilliant coach, a sensitive and understanding educator, and an amazing woman. She lives what she teaches and her passion for freeing everyone to embrace their own sensual aliveness is obvious and inspiring."

Guiding your journey through deep embodied wisdom and lived experience

Melanie Knight

Certified Sexological Bodyworker (CSB) · Somatic Sex Educator

I know what it's like to feel disconnected from your body, to use pain to try to feel something, to believe you're unlovable. I've walked that path, and found my way through to the other side.

My journey to this work began with my own profound awakening through Tantra. I discovered how to move from disconnection to embodied aliveness, from shame to celebration, and from pain to pleasure.

I'm now 50, in a deeply loving Tantric polyamorous relationship, and practice Tantra daily. As a Certified Sexological Bodyworker (CSB), Certified Somatic Sex Educator (CSSE), and transformational coach with over 20 years of experience, I combine extensive training with profound personal transformation:

• 10+ years studying Tantra and sacred sexuality practices
• 15+ years with Landmark (former seminar leader)
• 6+ years as a Clean Language facilitator
• Former board member of the Association of Certified Sexological Bodyworkers
• Recommended supervisor for practitioners

I specialise in supporting women through perimenopause and menopause to reconnect with their bodies and reclaim their sexual power. I came to this work through my own experience of it, and that is still the reason I do it.

Questions You Might Have

Do I need to know anything about the Wheel of Consent before I join?
Not at all. Module 3 introduces the framework fully. If you've encountered it before, that's a bonus, but this course is designed so that no prior knowledge is needed.
Is this a sexuality course?
The course is rooted in somatic and consent frameworks that apply to every area of life: your relationships, your work, your time, your energy. The facilitator is a Certified Sexological Bodyworker and the material goes as deep as participants want to take it. For some women, that will include sexuality. For others, the focus will be entirely on everyday relationships and patterns. Both are completely welcome.
What if I'm not sure I'm ready for group work?
That's worth exploring in a discovery call. One-to-one sessions offer a more private container and can go at a pace set entirely by you. Some women do one-to-one work alongside or before the group course. Please reach out and we can talk it through honestly. I'd rather you make the right choice than commit to something that doesn't fit right now.
What if I have to miss a session?
There's no falling behind. The course unlocks at one module per week from the day you join, but once a module is unlocked you can come to it whenever you have time. People take six weeks. People take six months. Both are fine.
Tell me more about the WhatsApp community
It's a rolling group: past and current self-study participants are all in one space. Women joining today are alongside women who finished six months ago and women halfway through. You can introduce yourself, share what's coming up for you, ask questions, or just lurk. I'm in the group as the facilitator. It's optional and you can leave at any time.
I have difficult history around consent and boundaries. Is this course right for me?
This course works with present-body experience. We do not revisit past incidents or work with trauma directly. Many women who have difficult histories find this work valuable and affirming. If you're in early trauma recovery or active mental health treatment, it's worth having a conversation first. Please reach out and we'll talk it through honestly.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. If you'd like to spread the £99 over a couple of months, please get in touch and we'll arrange it. You can email me directly at melanie@conscious-sexuality.co.uk.
