Reclaim Your Body, Beyond Performance
Body-based healing for men addressing sexual trauma, performance challenges, disconnection, and the path to authentic embodied presenceStart with a free conversation
Every journey starts with a free, unhurried 30-minute discovery call, in person in North London (N11) or online. No pressure.
You Don’t Have to Stay Stuck in These Patterns
You’ve learned that sexuality is about performance: lasting longer, achieving orgasm, satisfying your partner. You’ve been taught to disconnect from your body, to push through discomfort, to ignore your own needs and sensations in service of a goal.
Perhaps you’re struggling with premature ejaculation or erectile difficulties. Maybe you carry the hidden weight of sexual trauma, experiences that profoundly impact how you relate to your body and intimacy. You might feel disconnected during sex, going through the motions whilst your mind wanders elsewhere.
Or perhaps nothing is “wrong” in the conventional sense. You simply sense there’s more available. A depth of presence, sensation, and authentic connection that you’ve glimpsed but never fully experienced.
This conditioning serves no one. It disconnects you from your body’s innate capacity for pleasure, presence, and genuine intimate connection. And it doesn’t have to be this way.
Common Struggles That Bring Men to This Work
If you are in midlife, some of these change shape. There is more on sexuality for men over 50.
- Performance anxiety – The pressure to perform, to last long enough, to achieve and maintain an erection creates a cycle of anxiety that makes presence and pleasure nearly impossible. Your nervous system stays in fight-or-flight mode when it should be relaxed and open.
- Premature ejaculation – You ejaculate more quickly than you’d like, leaving you feeling inadequate or anxious about intimacy. You’ve tried techniques or mental tricks, but they don’t address the underlying patterns in your body and nervous system that create quick arousal and release.
- Erectile difficulties – Achieving or maintaining erection feels unreliable or impossible. This might be situational (works alone but not with partners) or consistent, and creates shame and avoidance of intimate situations.
- Sexual trauma or unwanted experiences – You carry experiences of abuse, coercion, boundary violations, or encounters where your consent was ignored. These may have happened in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood. Your body remembers even when you try to move forward mentally.
- Disconnection from your body – You feel numb or disconnected during intimacy, as though you’re watching from outside yourself. You struggle to feel sensation or stay present. Your mind wanders, makes lists, critiques your performance rather than experiencing what’s happening.
- Goal-oriented sexuality – Sex feels mechanical, a series of steps leading to orgasm. You rush toward release rather than experiencing the journey. Foreplay feels like obligation rather than pleasure. You can’t imagine sex that doesn’t end in ejaculation.
- Difficulty with emotional intimacy – You can perform sexually but struggle to be emotionally present or vulnerable during intimacy. True connection feels exposing or uncomfortable, so you keep part of yourself hidden even from loving partners.
- Shame about your body or desires – You carry shame about your penis size, your body, your level of desire, or specific fantasies and interests. This shame creates barriers to authentic expression and genuine pleasure.
- Relationship difficulties – Your sexual challenges are creating distance in your relationship. Your partner feels rejected by your avoidance, or frustrated by performance issues. You want to connect but don’t know how to break the patterns.
- Post-pornography disconnection – Extensive pornography use has created expectations or arousal patterns that don’t translate to real intimate connection. You struggle to feel aroused without specific visual stimuli or find real intimacy less exciting than fantasy.
Or Perhaps You Simply Want More
You don’t need to be in crisis to do this work. Many men come simply because they sense there’s something deeper available: a quality of presence, sensation and intimate connection that goes beyond what they’ve experienced so far.
This isn’t about fixing what’s broken. It’s about discovering what becomes possible when you inhabit your body fully and bring that awareness into your intimate life. Men who are already in good relationships, who enjoy their sexuality, who aren’t carrying trauma: they find that this work opens doors they didn’t know existed.
A Body-Based Approach to Healing and Transformation
This work addresses these challenges not through techniques or mental strategies, but through reconnecting you with your body’s innate wisdom and capacity for healing.
We work at the level of your nervous system, where patterns are actually held and where lasting change happens.
What we explore together:
Embodied awareness practices – Learning to shift from living in your head to inhabiting your body. You’ll develop the ability to notice sensations, recognise your body’s signals, and distinguish between anxiety and arousal, tension and relaxation, disconnection and presence.
Understanding your nervous system – Discovering how your body responds to stress, arousal, and intimacy. Learning to recognise fight-or-flight patterns and how to support your nervous system in returning to safety and openness. This is foundational for addressing performance anxiety, premature ejaculation, and trauma responses.
Breathwork and energy cultivation – Tantric breathing techniques that calm anxiety, support sustained arousal without rushing toward release, and allow sexual energy to flow naturally through your body rather than concentrating in your genitals.
Mindful self-touch and masturbation – Relearning how to touch yourself with presence and awareness rather than habit and goal-orientation. Discovering the difference between sensation-seeking touch and sensitivity-based touch. This practice is transformative for premature ejaculation, disconnection, and expanding your capacity for pleasure.
Boundary exploration and consent – Developing clarity around your yes, no, and maybe. Learning to communicate desires and limits with confidence. Understanding how unclear boundaries contribute to performance pressure and disconnection.
Addressing trauma responses – For men healing from sexual trauma or unwanted experiences, we work gently with how these show up in your body. This isn’t about reliving experiences. It’s about supporting your nervous system in releasing stored protective responses and reclaiming your right to pleasure and safety.
Movement and somatic release – Using gentle movement, shaking, or breathwork to release held tensions and stuck emotions. Your body holds patterns that talk therapy alone cannot reach. Movement creates pathways for completion and release.
Working with arousal patterns – Understanding your arousal cycle and learning to expand it. For premature ejaculation, this means developing awareness of your point of no return and learning to stay in high arousal without rushing toward release. For erectile difficulties, this means reducing performance pressure and discovering what genuinely arouses you beyond mental expectation.
Professional tantric massage (when appropriate) – Some men integrate hands-on bodywork into their healing journey. This is always your choice, never a requirement. Tantric massage supports men in experiencing pleasure beyond performance, receiving without doing, and discovering sensitivity throughout the entire body.
Understanding Different Modalities
I work with two distinct but complementary approaches:
Sexological Bodywork focuses on education, body awareness, arousal patterns, and embodied practices. Sessions follow professional code of ethics with me remaining clothed. This work is ideal for building foundation skills, addressing performance challenges, and trauma healing.
Tantric Massage follows traditional tantric practices including skin-to-skin contact and work with sexual energy through the body. This may include lingam (penis) massage as part of full-body energy work. Traditional tantric massage involves the practitioner being unclothed to facilitate energetic transmission through unmediated touch.
We’ll discuss which approach (or combination) serves your healing journey during your discovery call. Many men begin with Sexological Bodywork to build foundation and later incorporate tantric massage if it feels appropriate.
How We Work Together
Starting with a Discovery Call
We begin with a free 30-minute discovery call. This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a practical conversation where we get to know each other. I want to understand your background, what you’re hoping to achieve, and whether this approach feels right for you. You’ll see me on video, which is important for both our safety and comfort, particularly when working with sensitive material.
This call helps us both determine if we’re a good fit. You do not need to have it worked out beforehand.
First Session: Getting Straight Into Practice
If we decide to work together, your first session gets straight into embodied exercises. We don’t spend ages talking about your history or trauma. We work with what’s present in your body right now.
Depending on what you’re working with, we might explore:
- Body awareness and sensation practices
- Breathwork and nervous system regulation
- Boundary and consent exercises
- Mindful self-touch guidance
- Movement and somatic release
Between sessions, I’ll suggest simple practices to continue at home. These aren’t complicated, often just a few minutes of conscious body awareness or noticing your responses throughout the day.
The Reality of This Work
Healing and transformation take time and commitment. Many men work with me for 3-6 months or longer and see significant shifts. However, I’m honest with you: some men come for one or two sessions and realise they’re not ready to do the work required. That’s okay. This level of embodied healing isn’t for everyone, and there’s no shame in that.
Session frequency depends on what works for you: your schedule, your budget, your capacity. Some men work with me weekly initially, others fortnightly or monthly. We’ll find what’s sustainable for you.
Professional Bodywork (When Appropriate)
Some men choose to integrate professional tantric massage into their healing journey. This is always your choice, never a requirement, and typically happens after we’ve built a foundation through clothed sessions. We’ll discuss whether this modality makes sense for your specific situation during our discovery call or early sessions.

Transformation Is Possible: Hear From Men Who’ve Experienced This Work
Tantric Massage
I have to say that this was the best and most incredible massage experience that I have ever had, by a very long way. My experience of tantra is limited but it is clear to see that Melanie is knowledgeable, skilful and experienced. 2 hours seemed to float by. It was an experience the like of which I have not had before, from breathing together before the massage, through intimate eye contact and massage touch that left me feeling like I was in a different world. The massage was sensual and erotic without being sexual, giving the opportunity to be immersed within it without being goal focussed. It was truly a profound experience to treasure and one that I want to repeat to develop my understanding of my own body through the experience of Tantra.
Tantric Massage
Mel is not only knowledgeable about the flow of energy through one’s body. She has magic hands to make it happen. I learned about the difference between giving and receiving and relaxing into her giving and me receiving. I felt like a feather floating on the wings of the wind after her massage. It was not only enjoyable but also a transformative experience. Highly recommended.
Conscious Touch Sessions
One-to-One Sessions
I started taking part right at the beginning of the Conscious Touch series during the lockdown. What I found out during this time was how much I was not connected to my own body. As time went on I learn to just be with the moment of the touch and how it made me feel. I now practice this twice a week and the more I do it the more I become alive inside and outside. I have to say I could not have done this without the trust and guidance of Melanie Knight. A very warm personal and trusting guiding light. I would highly recommend this to everyone as this is not just about the pleasure it’s also about the inner healing. I am very thankful for the experience and will continue to participate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Sexological Bodywork is a body-based educational approach to sexuality and embodiment. Unlike talk therapy, we work directly with your body through breath, movement, touch, and sensation practices. I remain clothed during these sessions, and the work focuses on you developing awareness, skills, and new patterns in your own body.
Think of it as sex education that should have happened in school, but didn’t, combined with practical, embodied learning that addresses real challenges like performance anxiety, disconnection, and trauma responses.
Sexological Bodywork focuses on education, body awareness, arousal patterns, and embodied practices. Sessions follow a professional code of ethics with me remaining clothed. This work is ideal for building foundation skills, addressing performance challenges, and trauma healing.
Tantric Massage involves hands-on bodywork where I may be partially clothed or unclothed, working directly with your body’s arousal and energy. This modality supports men in experiencing pleasure beyond performance, receiving without doing, and discovering sensitivity throughout the entire body.
Both approaches are professional, boundaried, and therapeutic. We can discuss which approach, or combination, makes sense for your situation during the discovery call.
This is somatic education and coaching, not psychotherapy. I don’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you’re working with a therapist, this work can complement that beautifully. Many men find that bodywork addresses what talk therapy alone cannot reach.
Sex therapists work primarily through conversation and may assign homework exercises to try on your own. Sexological Bodywork involves hands-on guidance and witnessing of embodied practices during sessions. We work directly with your nervous system, breath, and body responses in real-time.
Both approaches have value. Some men work with both a therapist and a bodyworker. The embodied, experiential nature of this work often creates shifts that talking alone cannot.
Yes. This work addresses these challenges by working with your nervous system, arousal patterns, and body awareness rather than techniques alone. Most men see significant improvement, though timeframes vary. This is not a quick fix: it’s about addressing root causes and creating lasting change.
Yes. I’m trained in trauma-informed practice and have experience supporting men healing from sexual trauma. We work gently with how trauma shows up in your body and nervous system, always at your pace. You never need to recount details of traumatic experiences. We work with what’s present in your body.
Most men work with me for 3-6 months minimum. Some continue for a year or more. Healing and transformation take time. This isn’t about quick fixes but lasting change. The timeline depends on what you’re working with and your commitment to between-session practice.
Initially, this work is individual, focusing on your relationship with your own body. Once you’ve built a foundation, we can discuss whether couples work makes sense. I do offer couples sessions, feel free to read more about my couples session work here.
Absolutely. Many of the men I work with are in committed relationships. This individual work often transforms partnered intimacy as you bring new presence, skills, and embodiment to your relationship.
That’s exactly what the discovery call is for. Book a free 30-minute call, and we can discuss your situation, answer questions, and explore whether this approach resonates with you. There’s no obligation.
Clear boundaries are essential for safe, effective work. Boundaries include: you do not touch me; this is not mutual sexual interaction or gratification; sessions have clear start and end times; all practices are discussed and agreed upon before they happen; and the work is always one-directional and in service of your healing. These boundaries create the safety needed for vulnerable healing work and remain constant regardless of what either of us is wearing.
Practical Information & Logistics
In-person sessions are held at my home in North London (N11 postcode area). The space is discreet, comfortable, and specifically set up for this therapeutic work. Online sessions are conducted via Zoom for those who prefer remote work or live outside the area.
The practice is conveniently located near both underground and train stations, making it easily accessible via public transport. If you’re driving, there is free on-street parking available in the area. Specific address details will be provided when you book your first session.
Yes. Sessions are held at my home in a quiet residential area with private entry. You won’t encounter other clients, and sessions are scheduled with appropriate time between them for complete privacy.
For embodiment and coaching sessions, the minimum is 90 minutes. This allows adequate time for check-in, practice, and integration without feeling rushed. For professional tantric massage sessions, the minimum is 3 hours. This extended time is essential for the depth of bodywork and the nervous system regulation that tantric massage requires. We’ll discuss what’s appropriate for your needs during the discovery call.
After your initial discovery call, if we decide to work together, you’ll receive a booking link where you can schedule sessions at times that work for you. I typically recommend weekly or fortnightly sessions initially, moving to monthly once you’ve built a solid foundation.
Life happens. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged, as that time has been reserved for you.
Payment is typically made via bank transfer or card payment at the time of booking. For ongoing clients, pay-on-the-day arrangements can be made.
Yes. You can pay a deposit to secure your booking, with the balance due on the day of your session. This option is available for all session types.
Absolutely. The 6-session package can be paid in full upfront (to receive the discount), or split across your first 2-3 sessions by arrangement.
I hold a limited number of reduced-rate spaces each month for men experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a barrier, please mention this during your discovery call. This work shouldn’t be available only to those who can easily afford it. All conversations about finances are handled confidentially and without judgement.
Absolutely. Everything discussed and experienced in sessions is completely confidential. I do not share information about clients with anyone. The only exception would be if you were at immediate risk of harming yourself or others, in which case I have a duty of care to ensure safety.
Just yourself. You don’t need to bring anything specific. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to relax and move easily. For online sessions, ensure you have a private space where you won’t be interrupted.
Yes. Many aspects of this work translate surprisingly well to online sessions: breathwork, body awareness practices, mindful self-touch guidance, and coaching can all be done effectively via Zoom. Some men work with me entirely online; others combine online and in-person sessions. Professional bodywork sessions, of course, must be in-person.
Please let me know during the discovery call about any mobility issues, disabilities, or access requirements. My home is on the first floor with stairs. For anyone with mobility challenges, I can arrange accessible alternatives including hired space, home visits (if local), or online sessions. I’m happy to adapt practices to work with any physical limitations or needs you may have.
