A Different Approach to Men’s Sexual Healing

Most of what men are taught about sex is about performance. Getting hard, staying hard, lasting longer, getting there. Very little of it is about sensation, and almost none of it is about what a man actually wants rather than what he is supposed to deliver. That is the water we all swim in, and it costs something, whether or not you would describe it that way yourself. This work starts somewhere else. It is body-based rather than advice-based, it treats your own experience as the thing that matters, and it does not measure you against anything. Some men get in touch because something specific has been going wrong for months or years. Some get in touch because they sense there is more available and have no idea how to reach it. Both are ordinary reasons to make contact, and neither needs to be explained well before we speak. My work with men offers something different: a body-based approach to sexual healing that honours your wholeness, supports trauma recovery, and helps you discover pleasure, presence, and power beyond the limitations of goal-oriented sexuality. Whether you’re healing from sexual trauma, navigating the aftermath of unwanted experiences, struggling with erectile difficulties or premature ejaculation, feeling disconnected during intimacy, or simply sensing there’s more depth available, this work provides a pathway to authentic embodiment and connection.

What Men Bring to This Work

You might arrive with a specific challenge, something that’s been weighing on you for months or years. Or you might simply have a sense that something isn’t quite right, without being able to name it. Both are valid starting points. If you are in your fifties or sixties, there is a page on sexuality for men over 50 that covers what changes in midlife and what does not.

Here are some of the most common struggles men bring to this work:

  • Performance anxiety: The relentless pressure to get hard, stay hard and last long enough creates a loop of self-monitoring that pulls you completely out of the moment. Whether or not there is anyone else in the room, the watching is exhausting. The more you worry about performing, the less present you become, and the more likely things are to go “wrong.”
  • Premature ejaculation: You finish more quickly than you’d like, and it leaves you feeling frustrated, embarrassed, or anxious about initiating intimacy. You may have tried mental distraction techniques or numbing products, but nothing has addressed what’s actually happening in your body and nervous system.
  • Erectile difficulties: Whether it’s situational (works fine on your own but not with a partner) or more persistent, unreliable erections create a cycle of avoidance and shame that can quietly erode your confidence and your relationships.
  • Numbness or disconnection: You go through the motions during sex, but you’re not really there. Your mind wanders, you feel detached from your own body, or you struggle to feel much sensation at all. It’s as though there’s a pane of glass between you and the experience.
  • Sexual trauma or unwanted experiences: You carry experiences from childhood, adolescence, or adulthood where your boundaries were crossed or your consent was ignored. These experiences live in your body long after you’ve tried to move past them mentally.
  • Low desire or mismatched libido: Your interest in sex has dropped. That might be a quiet loss you have not mentioned to anyone, or it might not match a partner’s. Either way it can feel confusing, especially if desire used to come easily.
  • Shame about your body or desires: You carry judgements about your body, your penis, your level of desire, or specific fantasies. This shame acts like a brake on authentic pleasure and genuine connection.
  • Porn dependency and its aftermath: Extensive pornography use has shaped your arousal patterns in ways that don’t translate to real intimacy. You might struggle to feel aroused without specific visual stimuli, or find that partnered sex feels less compelling than what you’ve trained your nervous system to expect.
  • Difficulty with emotional intimacy: You can show up physically but struggle to be emotionally present. Vulnerability during sex feels exposing or uncomfortable, so you keep a part of yourself hidden, even from partners you love.
  • Relationship strain: Your sexual challenges are creating distance between you and your partner. They feel rejected by your avoidance, or frustrated by performance issues. You want to bridge the gap but don’t know how.

None of these struggles are signs that something is fundamentally broken in you. They’re patterns, often learned very early on, and patterns can shift when you work with them at the right level.

And Sometimes It’s Not About Fixing Anything

Not every man who comes to this work is struggling. Some arrive because they want more: more presence during intimacy, more sensation in their body, more depth in the way they connect with a partner. They’re curious about what becomes possible when sexuality moves beyond performance and into something richer.

Tantra and somatic practices aren’t only for healing. They’re tools for expansion. Men who already have good intimate lives discover that there are dimensions of pleasure, connection and embodied presence they didn’t know were available. The work becomes an exploration rather than a fix, and for many men, that shift is the most powerful thing they experience.

How I Work: Body-Based, Trauma-Informed, Consent-Centred

My work with men integrates Tantra, Sexological Bodywork, and somatic practices in a trauma-informed, consent-based framework. This isn’t talk therapy. It’s embodied work that addresses healing at the level of your nervous system and body. What we might explore: • Embodied awareness and presence practices • Breathwork and energy cultivation • Understanding your nervous system responses • Boundary setting and clear communication • Conscious self-touch and body mapping • When appropriate: professional tantric massage that supports healing and awakening Sessions are completely tailored to you: your needs, your comfort level, your pace. Many men work with me fully clothed for extended periods. Others find that tantric massage becomes part of their healing journey when the time is right. One thing worth being plain about, since it is often the unasked question. This is not an erotic service and I do not offer one. What I do offer is somatic education and coaching, and what it asks of you is honesty and curiosity rather than any particular level of experience, fitness or confidence. If you are not entirely certain which of those you came looking for, that is not a disqualification and it is not something to be embarrassed about. It is a good thing to say on the call. I would far rather hear it there than have either of us find out later.

How We Work Together

It Starts with a Conversation

We begin with a free 30-minute discovery call, not a sales pitch, but a genuine conversation. I want to understand what’s brought you to this point, what you’re hoping for, and whether this approach feels like the right fit. You’ll see me on video, which matters when we’re discussing sensitive material. This call is also your chance to ask anything you need to ask, about the work, about me, about what sessions actually involve.

You do not need to have it worked out before we speak. Most men arrive unsure how to describe what is wrong, or whether this is even the right kind of help. The call is where we work that out together, without pressure or obligation.

Your First Session

If we decide to work together, your first session gets straight into embodied practice. We don’t spend the whole time talking about your history. We work with what’s alive in your body right now. Depending on what you’re bringing, we might explore breathwork, body awareness exercises, boundary practices, or conscious self-touch guidance. You’ll leave with simple practices to continue at home, nothing complicated, often just a few minutes of noticing your body’s responses throughout the day.

Ongoing Work

Session frequency depends on your schedule, your budget, and your capacity. Some men come weekly at first, others fortnightly or monthly. We’ll find what’s sustainable for you.

The men who experience the most significant shifts are the ones who commit to practising between sessions. This isn’t homework in the traditional sense. It’s about building a new relationship with your body, one conscious moment at a time.

Two Pathways to Explore

Embodied Masculine Sexuality

This pathway addresses the full spectrum of men’s sexual healing and development. Whether you’re healing from sexual trauma, unwanted experiences, or abuse; working with performance anxiety, erectile difficulties, or premature ejaculation; or simply seeking to deepen your embodied awareness and presence, this work meets you where you are.

We explore mindful masturbation, conscious touch, boundary setting, breathwork, and understanding your arousal patterns. You’ll learn to recognise your body’s signals, develop sensitivity beyond sensation-seeking, and discover pleasure that doesn’t depend on performance or ejaculation.

This work is trauma-informed, consent-based, and completely tailored to your needs. Many men work fully clothed for extended periods, building foundation skills through breathwork and body awareness. Others integrate professional tantric massage when the time feels right. Your body’s wisdom guides the journey.

This path supports you in reclaiming your full sexual capacity, not through techniques or performance strategies, but through genuine reconnection with your embodied self.

Tantric Massage: Presence & Awakening

For men who are ready for advanced embodied work, tantric massage offers a profound gateway to deeper sensitivity, presence, and pleasure beyond what you’ve previously experienced.

This is not goal-oriented touch. It’s a meditative, whole-body experience that invites you to slow down, feel more deeply, and discover your capacity for pleasure that extends far beyond ejaculation. Through professional massage that honours your body as sacred, you’ll learn to receive touch with presence, allow arousal without rushing toward release, and experience intimate connection in entirely new ways.

This work addresses the conditioning that taught you to disconnect from sensation, to rush toward orgasm, to “perform” rather than feel. It supports men in developing true sensitivity: the ability to feel subtle sensations, to be present with pleasure, and to experience sexuality as a pathway to deeper embodiment and authentic connection.

Transformation Is Possible: Hear From Men Who’ve Experienced This Work

Tantric Massage

“The massage was sensual and erotic without being sexual, giving the opportunity to be immersed within it without being goal focussed.“

I have to say that this was the best and most incredible massage experience that I have ever had, by a very long way. My experience of tantra is limited but it is clear to see that Melanie is knowledgeable, skilful and experienced. 2 hours seemed to float by. It was an experience the like of which I have not had before, from breathing together before the massage, through intimate eye contact and massage touch that left me feeling like I was in a different world. The massage was sensual and erotic without being sexual, giving the opportunity to be immersed within it without being goal focussed. It was truly a profound experience to treasure and one that I want to repeat to develop my understanding of my own body through the experience of Tantra.

Tantric Massage

“I felt like a feather floating on the wings of the wind after her massage. It was not only enjoyable but also a transformative experience.“

Mel is not only knowledgeable about the flow of energy through one’s body. She has magic hands to make it happen. I learned about the difference between giving and receiving and relaxing into her giving and me receiving. I felt like a feather floating on the wings of the wind after her massage. It was not only enjoyable but also a transformative experience. Highly recommended.

Conscious Touch Sessions
One-to-One Sessions

“I have learnt to check in with myself and check what I need before I respond to what other people want”

I started taking part right at the beginning of the Conscious Touch series during the lockdown. What I found out during this time was how much I was not connected to my own body. As time went on I learn to just be with the moment of the touch and how it made me feel. I now practice this twice a week and the more I do it the more I become alive inside and outside. I have to say I could not have done this without the trust and guidance of Melanie Knight. A very warm personal and trusting guiding light. I would highly recommend this to everyone as this is not just about the pleasure it’s also about the inner healing. I am very thankful for the experience and will continue to participate.

What Makes This Approach Different

  • Beyond quick fixes – This isn’t about techniques to last longer or perform better. It’s about addressing the root causes of disconnection and discovering your body’s innate capacity for healing and presence.
  • Body-based, not talk therapy – We work at the level of your nervous system and physical body, where patterns are held. This creates lasting change rather than intellectual understanding alone.
  • Authenticity required – I only work with men who are genuinely committed to transformation. This protects both your journey and the integrity of the work, ensuring we can go deep without performance or pretence.
  • Professional boundaries – Clear, ethical practice that honours consent, maintains appropriate boundaries, and creates genuine safety for vulnerable exploration.
  • Holistic approach – Addressing sexuality, embodiment, and intimacy as interconnected aspects of your wholeness rather than isolated problems to fix. Whether working with trauma, performance challenges, or deepening presence, we address the whole person.
  • Trauma-informed when needed – For men healing from sexual trauma or unwanted experiences, I understand how these show up in your body and nervous system, and how to work with them safely and effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions

What actually happens in a session?

Every session is different because the work is tailored to you. We might explore breathwork, body awareness practices, nervous system regulation, boundary exercises, mindful self-touch guidance, or movement. Some sessions are quiet and internal; others are more active. We always begin by checking in with where you are (physically and emotionally) and we work from there. Nothing happens without your informed consent, and you’re always in control of the pace.

Do I need to undress?

Only if that is part of what you have chosen to work on, and only when you ask for it.

A great deal of this work involves no undressing at all. If what you are exploring is consent, boundaries, or learning to notice what you want and say it out loud, that happens fully clothed. It is where most people begin, and some people stay there for months, because that is where the useful work is for them.

If you want to work with body image, or with full body touch, or with genital work, then undressing may become part of it. It does not have to be. Touch can be done over clothing, or with parts of you covered, if that is what you would rather, and that holds even for full body or genital work. That is your choice, not a lesser version of the session. Whatever you decide is agreed in advance, and you can change your mind at any point, including partway through.

Undressing can also be the exercise itself. For some people the hard part is not being touched, it is being seen, or seeing themselves. If that is what is alive for you, that is something we can work with directly, slowly and at your pace.

Nothing here happens by default. It happens because you asked for it.

Is this sexual?

This work involves sexuality as a topic, and some practices work directly with arousal and sensation, but it is not a sexual service. Clear boundaries are in place at all times: you do not touch me, this is not mutual interaction, and the work is always one-directional and in service of your healing and growth. These boundaries are what make the depth of this work possible.

Can I do this work online?

Yes. Many of the core practices (breathwork, body awareness, self-touch guidance, nervous system regulation) work very effectively via Zoom. Online sessions are a good option if you live outside London, prefer the comfort of your own space, or want to begin the work before committing to in-person sessions. The one exception is tantric massage, which is only available in person.

How many sessions will I need?

There’s no fixed programme. This depends entirely on what you’re working with and how deeply you want to go. Most men work with me for three to six months. Some come for a focused block of sessions around a specific challenge; others continue over a longer period as the work evolves. We’ll check in regularly about what’s serving you.

What’s the difference between this and therapy?

This is somatic education and coaching, not psychotherapy. I don’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. The key difference is that we work directly with your body (your nervous system, your breath, your physical patterns) rather than primarily through conversation. Many men find this work complements talk therapy beautifully, reaching places that words alone don’t access.

Where are sessions held?

In-person sessions take place at my practice in North London (N11). The space is private, comfortable, and purpose-designed for this work. It’s well connected by public transport, close to both tube and train stations, with free on-street parking nearby. The full address is shared when you book your first session.

What does it cost?

Discovery calls are always free. For session pricing, please see the Investment section below. I also offer a package option for men who want to commit to a block of sessions at a reduced rate.
