Press & Media

I’m passionate about opening up honest, down-to-earth conversations around sexuality, intimacy, pleasure, and the body. Here are some of the media projects I’ve been involved in.

Strip n Sip Podcast

Co-hosted with Natalia Suta, the Strip n Sip Podcast explores topics that many of us rarely get to discuss openly, from consent and boundaries to orgasm, self-pleasure, polyamory, and reclaiming our relationship with our bodies. Frank, warm, and sometimes irreverent, these conversations are designed to normalise what so many people experience but few feel able to talk about.

Silver Tent TV: Sex and the Older Woman

A panel series created for Silver Tent TV, where I bring together women to have the conversations that mainstream media still avoids: sexuality, desire, and intimacy in later life. Honest, empowering, and long overdue.

Documentary Work

I’ve also contributed to documentary projects exploring themes of sexuality, embodiment, and healing.

Workshops and Speaking

I have been leading workshops for years, in a range of settings and capacities, and I also speak at events on sexuality, intimacy, embodiment and consent. Festivals are one of the places I most love to bring this work. At Buddhafield 2026, one of the UK's long-running conscious festivals, I held two workshops on the main stage, to rooms of around seventy and around sixty people. You can read what unfolded in When the Body Leads: Two Workshops at Buddhafield. This August I take two more to Into the Wild, the third time I will have brought a set of workshops like these into the world.

Media Enquiries Welcome

I welcome interest from press, media, podcasters, festival organisers, and event producers. Whether you’re looking for a guest expert, a panellist, a workshop facilitator, or a speaker on topics around conscious sexuality, somatic sex education, intimacy, consent, or pleasure, I’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch at melanie@conscious-sexuality.co.uk.

I Told Woman’s Own My Story: No One Should Accept Bad Sex

Woman’s Own has run a feature about my story: the tantra workshop that changed everything, the relationship I finally ended, and why I now spend my days teaching people that no one should accept bad sex.

I Told the Daily Mail My Story: Why Bad Sex Isn’t Inevitable in Midlife

This week the Daily Mail published a feature about my story. The headline they chose, “I once thought bad sex was inevitable in middle age. Here’s how, at 48, I found out I was oh, oh, oh so wrong”, made me smile. But underneath the tabloid sparkle is something I...

Vaginas: Knowing, Loving, and Celebrating Your Body

You have lived in this body for decades and there is a fair chance you could not draw it accurately. That is not ignorance. Hardly anybody was taught, and a surprising number of us were taught to look away.

The Phallus Chronicles: Beyond Size, Shape, and Shame

For something so much has been said about, remarkably little of it is accurate. This episode approaches penises the way you might approach any other part of the body: with curiosity, and without a ruler.

The Ode to Orgasm: Redefining Pleasure Beyond the Climax

You have almost certainly pretended at some point. Most people have, often to bring things to a kind conclusion. This first episode starts exactly there, with what happens when orgasm becomes the thing sex is for.

Polyamory Part 2: Navigating Jealousy, Growth, and Healing

Jealousy is the first thing anyone asks about and the last thing anyone explains. This is the harder half of the conversation: what comes up, what it costs, and what people actually do with it when it arrives.

Polyamory Part 1: Many Loves, One Honest Conversation

You have probably already decided what you think about this, most people have, often without having met anyone who lives it. This episode is less an argument for polyamory than a plain description of what it actually involves.

No Expiration Date: A Documentary About Women, Desire and Ageing

There is a question a lot of women carry around for years without ever saying it out loud. Whether that part of life is simply finished. This short film puts the question to three generations of women and then gets out of the way while they answer it.

Sex and the Older Woman: Consent and Boundaries

You can be seventy and still find yourself going along with something because it seemed easier than explaining. This panel talks about consent at an age when nobody thinks to raise it with them any more.

Penises: Celebrating Manhood, Pleasure, and Partnership

Almost every conversation about penises is about size. Almost none are about what it is like to be attached to one. This is the second half of that conversation, and it moves off anatomy and on to what happens between two people.

Sex and the Older Woman: Self-Pleasure

Most of us picked up early that this was something boys did openly and girls did not admit to. Nobody sat you down and explained it. It arrived in what got laughed about, and in what did not get mentioned at all.

Foreplay: Why the Journey Matters More Than the Destination

You have probably been treating it as the queue rather than the event. Something to get politely through on the way to the part that counts. This episode argues that you have the order backwards, and that the queue was the day out.

Sex and the Older Woman: Episode 1

Nobody ever announced that this stops. It arrived in what was not said, in who quietly vanished from the adverts, in the way a doctor moved briskly past the question. This is a panel of women over fifty saying the unsaid part out loud, at normal volume.

Consent and Boundaries: The Foundation of Authentic Intimacy

You agreed to something last week that you did not really want. Possibly not in bed. Possibly it was a coffee, a favour, a Saturday. Most of us learned to say yes first and work out how we felt about it afterwards. This conversation is about catching that while it...

Breasts: Rediscovering Connection and Pleasure

Most women only ever touch their breasts to check for lumps. The rest of the time they seem to belong to other people: to a bra fitter, to a baby, to a partner, to whoever has an opinion about them this decade. This episode is about what happens when you...
